South Side students and staff celebrated Arbor Day with a tree planting ceremony on a beautiful, sunny afternoon. Many students participated in the ceremony by reading poetry and stories written about trees, and sharing information about tulip trees. The South Side band performed and fourth grade students shared a song. Special guests included the Kendallville Tree Commission, Scott Derby from the city engineering department, and a representative from the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.
